VALUES (HOW)

Dignity and Respect - To build a sense of support, equity and fairness which allows all educators to feel affirmed and valued.

Advocacy for Teachers - To secure competitive salaries, benefits and working conditions. To protect legal, contractual and human rights for educators.

Professional Growth - To allow all educators to have ample opportunities to grow and improve their skills through meaningful programs.

Democracy - To encourage partnerships, collegiality, consensus models for decision-making and collaborative problem solving.

Relationships - To create trustworthy, open and honest communication among members, colleagues, administrators, school board members, students, parents and the community.

Learning - To build on successful existing instructional programs while developing and implementing new models for learning.

Support - To advocate with all stakeholders, elected and appointed officials to secure financial and other resources needed to maintain and enhance a quality school system.
