Community Education is community-based. Involvement of community members in the process is essential. The Advisory Council is responsible for seeing that Community Education programs serve the interests and concerns of the community.

Advisory Council Members

The Advisory Council consists of members who live, work or attend school in the Roseville Area Schools' community. Council members represent age groups, neighborhoods, organizations and agencies in the community.

Advisory Council Roles

To provide input for a balanced Community Education program for all members of the community, from birth through senior citizens.

To develop positive, cooperative efforts with other community agencies and groups.

To assess community needs and resources, and implement a process for evaluation of Community Education programs, services and activities.

To establish and support community leadership.

To work for legislative support of Community Education.

To make recommendation for the use of the Community Education levy.

To become a meaningful problem-solving group.

Program Advisory Councils

The following Community Education programs have their own advisory councils. These councils provide valuable program suggestions. There are program advisory councils for:

The North Suburban Senior Council is a nonprofit organization which works cooperatively with Roseville Area Schools to provide services and programs for older people.
