Early Childhood Family Education is a program for all families with children, birth to 5 years old, regardless of financial circumstances. The goal of the program is to support parents in their child-raising role and provide children with opportunities to discover and learn. Weekly classes are held during the day, evening and Saturday mornings. Each class provides for parent-child activity and a parent discussion group. In addition to weekly classes, special events, field trips and a parent resource library are available to all families in the community. All teachers are licensed by the State of Minnesota. Call 651-487-4378 for more information.

Do You Have a Parenting Question?

We have all had those moments as a parent or caregiver when we just did not understand our child's behavior or we needed someone to talk to. Whether you are looking for developmental information, ideas for kid-friendly activities, or parenting techniques, help is just a click away. A licensed parent educator will answer your questions based on current research and experience. Send your questions to: Naomi.Banick@isd623.org.

Early Childhood Screening is an early look at a child's development. The ideal age for screening is 3-4 years old. This allows health and development concerns to be addressed one to two years before a child enters kindergarten. The State of Minnesota requires a health and developmental screening for every child before kindergarten entry into a public school. District 623 offers this service at no cost. For more information call 651-604-3515.

Do you have questions about your Child's Development? Minnesota ParentsKnow has a site that gives General Development Indicators for ages 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 18 months, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, and 5 years old. Just click on the age below to picture to see the information.

School Readiness is a state funded program for 3-1/2 to 5 year old children and their families who live in the Roseville Area School District. This program gives preschoolers the opportunity to enhance the skills for kindergarten while parents choose from a variety of parent involvement activities. Children with the greatest needs (as identified through early childhood screening) receive priority. No one will be denied participation due to inability to pay. Limited transportation is available. Call 651-604-3578 for more information.

The Parent Resource Library is a great place to find children's toys, books and parenting books. Located in the lower level of Parkview Center School, the library follows the ECFE calendar. Membership is open to anyone in the community. For more information call 651-487-4361.
