| Who We Are and What We Do The purpose of the Advisory Council is to be available to offer advice and assistance to program staff in the design, administration, and content of the Early Childhood Family Education Program. The council is involved in fundraising, public relations, and program planning and acts as a liaison between parents and the program. Advisory Council members parents of children in the program volunteering their time to cooperatively find ways and means to make this program the best it can be! |
There are 22 positions on the council, which require both individual and group participation. They are:
- Chairperson
- Vice-Chairperson
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Member-At-Large (18)
To most efficiently achieve goals, the council is
divided into committees.
The committees are:
Community Relations/Legislative Committee: Divides its efforts between community affairs, such as ensuring ECFE Council attendance at Roseville School Board meetings, and legislative affairs, such as maintaining contact with legislative committees and local Representative/Senators on matters affecting ECFE.
Book Fair Committee: Organizes the book fair usually held mid-Fall semester.
Children's Stuff Sale Committee: Organizes the annual Children's Stuff Sale.
Promotions Committee: Coordinates year-round fundraising and promotional events such as the Herberger’s Community Day and Davanni’s fundraisers.
Open House Committee: Organizes the Open House before fall semester begins.
Fall Ball Committee: Organizes the annual Autumn party.
Little Sweeties Dance Committee: Organizes the annual mid-year party.
Spring Carnival Committee: Organizes the annual spring fling.
Recruiting/Nominating Committee: Recruits and nominates council members as positions become vacant during the year and for the succeeding school year.
Volunteer Committee: Compiles a list of volunteers that responded from the ECFE participant's handout, providing specific names to committees. Also keeps track of volunteer hours and handles recognition of all volunteers.
Outreach/Sunshine Committee: Promotes scholarships, handles card and gift giving and organizes Staff Appreciation week.
