Friendship Connection

Spend Your Summer With Friends

Friendship Connection is our school-age childcare program that provides care before and after school, on non-school days, and during the summer. During the summer months, Friendship Connection students have numerous field trips, camps, and clubs available to them.

Summer School

Spend Your Summer Learning

Our summer school program is designed to prepare students academically for the upcoming school year. The smaller class sizes in summer school give students a more personalized learning environment. Lessons are tailored to each child’s educational and social-emotional needs. Students work closely with their teachers in summer school to tackle specifics skills that will help them in the upcoming school year. Summer school is only available to invited students.

Summer school includes a number of activities:

  • Academic Learning: Time spent in classrooms building math, reading, technology, and lab skills.

  • Enrichment Activities: Hands-on learning and large-group activities that help build social, critical thinking skills,
cooperation, and communication skills.

  • Fit Time: Students will participate in a variety of organized games and sports for all fitness levels.

Swimming Lessons

We offer a variety of swimming lessons for youth ages, from toddler and parent classes to Red Cross Swimming Lessons.  So, dive in! The water is always an enjoyable 86 degrees.

Band and Orchestra Camps

Make Your Summer Musical

Band and Orchestra camps are offered for students entering grades 4-8 in the mornings during the months of July and August. Students receive a lesson every day, five days a week, for three weeks. In addition, students participate in music theory class, band/orchestra rehearsal, and a recreational period. Attendance is required the first week of camp. For more information, e-mail Donna Andersen at donna.andersen@isd623.org or call 651-604-3770.

Band and Orchestra camps are also available for high school students. These camps typically meet 2-4 days each week to accommodate older students' busy schedules.
