"Who dares to teach must never cease to learn."
- John Cotton Dana

The Department of Teaching and Learning includes all areas related to curriculum, professional development, instruction, and assessment. We are staffed by a group of teacher leaders who coordinate and lead our district initiatives. In addition, we work very closely with the nine buildings in our district to help them implement their school's goals. Our department is driven by a commitment to helping our teachers implement research-based strategies which will increase the probability that all children will learn.

Roseville area schools is committed to:

  • using research-based curriculum and instruction strategies
  • meeting the needs of its diverse community
  • providing ongoing job-embedded professional development for its staff
  • continually assessing student performance to provide parents and staff the instructional information they need
  • providing a rigorous, challenging and enriched learning environment for all students, while providing differentiated programming and curriculum options for identified gifted and talented students.
