Building Initiatives
Each school receives integration revenue for diversity initiatives in the following four areas:
- Intercultural Competence Initiatives
will provide professional development for ALL
staff, focusing on developmental growth on the DMIS (Developmental
Model of Intercultural Sensitivity).
Examples of Building Initiatives in the Schools
- District Endorsed Research-Based Initiatives are research-based programs that focus on intercultural teaching and learning strategies that have been approved for ISD 623 Board Credit.
- Family/Community Outreach Initiatives
provide the necessary support and services to enable all
students and families equal access to our schools with a
focus on providing communities the opportunity for increased
interracial interaction.

- Student Programming Initiatives provide the opportunity for staff to develop and implement strategies that enable all students to learn in a culturally inclusive learning environment.
Integrating Building Goals and Allocations
SMART Goals are individual building goals addressing equity initiatives in our schools. VisionCards are part of the District's strategic planning
