Partnership Opportunities

Partnerships are urban/suburban collaborations which bring together academic, cross-district integrated classrooms between Roseville Area Schools and St. Paul Public Schools. Partnerships between Saint Paul Public Schools and EMID member districts (Roseville, North Saint Paul/Maplewood/Oakdale, Mahtomedi, White Bear Lake, Stillwater, South Washington County, Inver Grove Heights, South Saint Paul, and West Saint Paul) are paid for with integration revenue. The goal of the partnerships is for students to learn together (academic focus), learn about each other (integration focus), and learn about cultures(cultural focus). Teachers interested in participating in a partnership should contact Holly Maddox .

Project Common Ground

  • An education experience that brings inner city and suburban students together to develop an appreciation and understanding of different cultures.
  • Began 1994
  • Initiative of the East Metro Integration District
  • Students from different backgrounds have the opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate differences and similarities.

"It really changed my view. It taught me to try and understand people from their point of view. It all comes back to respect." - Shannon, 6th grade student at Parkview

"My own personal measure of success is when you see the changes in the students - they are more aware of their actions and how those actions affect other people." - Garin Bogenholm, Assistant Principal at Parkview
