Until every gifted child can attend a school where the brightest are appropriately challenged in an environment with their intellectual peers, America can't claim that it's leaving no child behind.
– Jan and Bob Davidson with Laura Vanderkam, in Genius Denied

Roseville Area Schools recognizes that some students have outstanding abilities that differ from other students of their age, experience and environment. The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program seeks to identify these students in order to provide services and programming to meet their unique needs, while providing rigor, challenge and an enriched learning environment for all students.

Please click on the tabs above to learn more about high ability and gifted learners, Roseville’s GATE program, services, policies and procedures. We also have included many resources for students, families and educators.

*** If you are interested in learning more about twice-exceptional (2e) students (learners who are gifted and also have additional exceptionalities such as autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, behavioral and emotional disorders, etc.), please join our 2e learning group. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Trina Hira at trina.hira@isd623.org.

*** Periodically, we offer sessions regarding the GATE Program and sessions about parenting gifted children topics. Information on these sessions will be communicated through school newsletters or web sites.
