Roseville Area Schools recognizes that some students have outstanding abilities that differ from other students of their age, experience and environment. The Gifted and Talented Education, GATE, Program seeks to identify these students in order to provide services and programming to meet their unique needs, while providing rigor, challenge and an enriched learning environment for all students. Professional development is central to the development of an effective program.

The Gifted and Talented Advisory Council provide guidance and advice for the ongoing develpment and planning of the program. Parent and teacher representatives use the  philosophy and mission statement as a template and guide for their decision making.

Early Entrance and Grade Skipping are effective strategies for appropriately identified students. Specific guidelines have been develped and are posted on this website.
