Environmental Education / PCS School Forest
Parkview has teamed with the University of Minnesota School of Forestry and has been designated as a Minnesota School Forest Site. University of Minnesota staff and student interns work with PCS teachers to provide numerous environmental education activities throughout the school year. A Green Team offers students, parents, and teachers special opportunities to work on more in-depth projects. The School Forest project includes planting and landscaping projects on the school grounds.
Please take a look at our original School Forest Web Page.
Parkview was one of the first schools on the web due to the School Forest project. Steve Lyme, a forestry graduate student, developed Parkview's first web site back in 1994. The U of M's Forestry School actually hosted the page on their web server. We have heard that Steve has gone on to be webmaster for Minnesota's Department of Natural Resources.
