Membership

The RAMS PTSA membership fee is $10.00/person or $15.00/household.

You can become a member at anytime. Attendance at monthly PTSA meetings is not required, and we welcome your involvement in any way that fits your schedule.

A portion of the fee supports the National and Minnesota PTA; the remainder stays local to support our RAMS PTSA administrative costs and help fund other activities. The strength of PTA to help get laws passed on the state and national level that support our children and education is directly related to its membership. Your paid membership is very important to the success of our PTSA even if you don't attend meetings or get involved in other ways.

To become a member, print the enrollment form and return it along with the membership fee; (checks made payable to:  RAMS PTSA).  You can drop the form off in the RAMS Main Office or mail to:

PTSA Activities

Each year, the PTSA members decide which activities they want to sponsor for the current school year. Some of the activities/programs sponsored by PTSA in recent years include:

  • Teacher Appreciation Events
    • Teacher/Staff Dinner During Fall and Winter Conferences
    • Teacher Appreciation Breakfast in the Spring
  • Wish On A Star Program
  • Teacher Mini-Grants
  • 7th Grade Welcome Party
  • General Mills Box Top Contest
  • Support For Field Trips and Other Special School Needs

PTSA Funding

Direct Giving Campaign. There are no major fundraisers sponsored by the PTSA (the Student Council handles the major fundraiser for RAMS); PTSA funds itself primarily through contributions from families in our Direct Giving Campaign. The fundraising campaign is usually held during Winter Conferences, but contributions from families are accepted at any time. Mail your contribution in the form of a check or money order (payable to: RAMS PTSA).  Send to:

General Mills Box Top Program. Another source of funding for the PTSA is the "General Mills Box Tops For Education" program. During the 2009-2010 school year, approximately $1,056 was raised through this program.

The PTSA sponsors an annual Box Top Contest with the classroom collecting the most box tops earning a prize. This year, several prizes will be awarded to individual students who contribute box tops to the contest. Contest details will be announced to students and information will be included in the December/January issue of the Raider Review.
