1995-1996 Board Minutes Index

These are the abridged minutes from the Regular School Board meeting held on March 26, 1996, which will be approved at the April 9, 1996 School Board meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m.

Board members present: Bertz, Borsheim, Shelton, Silliman, Spartz.
Administrative staff present: Ericson, Menzel, O'Connor, Smelser, Thein.

Discussion Items:

1. Wayne Nelsen, Mary Thury, John Borgen, Dick Menzel and Dave O'Connor, presented information on proposed teacher induction materials.

2. Evie Borsheim presented awards to Foundation Grant recipients. The recipients were as follows:

Jane Greco, Phyllis Bentley, Peter Sullivan, Kevin Smith - Roseville Area High School

Youth and the Environment: A conference promoting peace through stewardship
Gail Steinman, Kay Smith - Parkview Center School

3. Dianne Storti presented an update on district responses to the Minnesota Student Survey and activities within the district.

4. Ellen Shelton reported on the Community Education Advisory Council meeting she attended where reorganizing youth enrichment at schools was discussed. Ellen also reported that the Tri-District School Board had adopted a teacher contract for the first round of teachers to be hired.

Action Items:

1. The consent agenda, including minutes of the regular School Board meeting of March 12, 1996, payment of bills, resignations and appointments, gifts and surrogate parents, was approved by unanimous vote.

2. The retirement/resignation of Tom Alden, custodian, was accepted by unanimous vote.
