Homeschooling

Homeschool information is available from the Minnesota Department of Education. Families who are continuing home school must register by October 1 of each school year. Families new to homeschooling must register in their home district by October 1 or within 15 days of withdrawing a child from public school.

Roseville Area Schools provides advanced approval for the following nationally normed tests set as examples by the Minnesota Department of Education and aligned with the testing services that are provided by the University of Minnesota for homeschool families. This currently includes the IOWA Form E, Stanford 10, California Achievement Test (CAT), NWEA Map and Peabody Individual Achievement Test (PIAT). Roseville Area Schools will also accept the Woodcock Johnson IV, as well as the ACT as an option for High School students. We will continue to provide opportunities for home school students to participate in grade appropriate MCAs, PSAT, and AP tests in addition to one of the listed examples. Additionally, Roseville Area Schools will consider other Standardized, Nationally Norm-Referenced Achievement Tests on an individual basis, if you would like us to consider another test please complete the form here: Roseville Area Schools Achievement Test Request Form.

Home-educated students may earn a diploma from Roseville Area High School if they are enrolled at least part time during their senior year. For more information, click here to download the diploma option from Roseville Area High School
