What is Early Childhood Screening?

Early Childhood screenings is a quick way to check and see how your child is growing, developing, and learning. During the screening, your child will complete a variety of activities that show their communication, cognitive, and motor skills.

Why should I have my child screened?

This free screening is required for participation in our Pre-K program. Minnesota state law also requires families to have their children screened before they enter kindergarten.

When should I have my child screened?

The best age for your child to be screened is between the ages of 3 and 4. The screening has a separate scoring system for each age group, so waiting until your child is older will not improve a score.
