History Day is an interdisciplinary research project for students in grades 6-12. Students choose a topic that relates to a theme, research that topic, and develop their research into one of five presentation categories: research paper, exhibit, documentary, performance, or website. This year’s theme was Taking a Stand in History.
The national contest is the final stage of a series of contests at local levels. Audrey, Sruthi and Sebastian advanced through the local, regional, and state contests to win their invitation to the national contest. More than 500,000 students participate in lower levels of the annual competition with the best advancing to the national contest.
