October is College Knowledge Month

RAHS is hosting a MnACC (Minnesota Association of Counselors of Color) College Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 1 - 2:30 p.m. in the upper gym. MnACC member institutions include 2-yr and 4-yr institutions from MN, WI, ND, SD, IA, IL and NE. Over 50 colleges will be represented. Sophomores, juniors and seniors will be excused from their classes to attend.
College application assistance from school counselors on Oct. 16, 25 and 29 from 2:45-4:00 p.m. in the Career Center. For students only. 
Junior Meeting-College Information Night on Oct. 23 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the media center for students and parents. 
College Application Day is Oct. 23. Students sign up in Career Center for a time during the day to complete applications in the media center. College Reps will be on hand. See the list of Minnesota schools that waive application fees at various times during the month of October.
FAFSA Workshop will be held Oct. 25 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the media center. College financial aid reps will be available to assist with FAFSA questions. Complete your FAFSA this night! For students and parents.  

Seniors can fine tune their college application essay writing in Ms. Dahlin’s/Mr. Engelking’s three-session essay writing class on Oct. 4, 11 and 25. The class is from 2:45-3:45 p.m., Rm B217. Cost is $15. Please see Ms. Sneltjes in the Career Center for registration forms or register online at Roseville Community Ed.

Students interested in learning more about construction trades are invited to attend a  field trip to Construct Tomorrow, on Thursday, October 25 at Washington Tech Magnet School. Students will leave school at 12:30 and return by 2:15. Permissions slips can be found in the Career Center and are due on October 17. There is no fee for the field trip.
