Tony Oliva Visited Little Canada Class

Twins player Tony Oliva visits Mr. Estrada's sixth grade class.

Little Canada sixth graders are studying immigration and attending a play about immigration at the Children's Theater. Mr. Oliva was invited by his friend Mr. Estrada, one of our sixth grade teachers, to talk about his own immigration story.

Tony Pedro Oliva (born Antonio Oliva Lopez Hernandes Javique on July 20, 1938) is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) right fielder and designated hitter. A star of the first magnitude, he spent his entire 15-year baseball career playing for the Minnesota Twins from 1962 through 1976.

Our students and staff was pretty excited to have such a great man visiting  our school.
