School Board Votes to Require Staff Vaccinations or Weekly Testing

September 14, 2021

Good afternoon Roseville Area Schools staff and families,

Tonight the school board of Roseville Area Schools adopted a resolution requiring staff requiring all Roseville Area Schools staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or to submit to weekly COVID-19 testing. Read the full resolution.

As COVID-19 case rates have increased during the summer as a result of the Delta variant, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Education continue to emphasize the importance of vaccinations as a tool to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Research has demonstrated that vaccines are safe and effective at preventing serious illness.

The requirement will take effect on October 15, allowing time for unvaccinated staff to access a vaccination. While most of our employees are already vaccinated, we believe this step will create an additional incentive for anyone who remains unvaccinated and will improve the likelihood that we will be able to continue with in-person learning.

Thank you for your ongoing support in creating a healthy and safe learning environment for our students.
