Gifted & Talented Advisory Council

GATE Advocates and Liaisons

The Gifted and Talented Advisory Council (GTAC) reviews and advocates for GATE Services. The GATE lead teachers from each building, along with a parent representative from each school, comprise the council. The purpose of GTAC is to:

  • Review and learn about gifted and talented program options
  • Provide feedback on program ideas and implementation
  • Advocate for gifted programming in the schools and community
  • Serve as a liaison and information resource to their school's parent or school organizations

For the 2016-17 school year, the council meets Thursdays on the following dates:

  • Sept. 22
  • Oct. 27
  • Dec. 8 (Meets in Room 116A)
  • Mar. 16
  • Apr. 27

Meeting from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., the GATE Advisory Council convenes in the Educational Development Center (EDC) Great Room at the Fairview Community Center (with the exception of the December meeting which will be held in Room 116A at Fairview). Meetings are open to the public.
