Mission and Objectives

Strengthening Gifts and Talents

The mission of our Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Services program is to identify gifted and talented students and engage them within a supportive community that strengthens and enhances their gifts and talents.

We will fulfill our mission for GATE students by:

  • Developing a partnership between administrators, teachers, staff, and parents that enables students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in school and in district-supported enrichment opportunities
  • Using an identification process that is equitable and respectful of the district’s students
  • Coordinating K-12 gifted services continuously, using appropriately differentiated curriculum and instruction, grouping practices, and options for acceleration and enrichment that match students' assessed levels and advanced learning rates
  • Develop a community of teachers prepared for and committed to supporting and differentiating their students' individual strengths and needs
  • Offering opportunities for gifted students to learn with peers of similar abilities and needs through broader and deeper educational experiences that develop innovation and problem solving skills, leadership abilities, and self-understanding
