A Tradition of Excellence

Roseville Area Schools is a vibrant learning community with a long-standing tradition of excellence.  The points-of-pride listed below highlight some of the district's recent achievements. They are meant to entice you to visit the schools, attend events when you can, and become involved, even if you don’t have children in school. You will quickly discover the source of our pride – the students, staff, and families of Roseville Area Schools.

  • Strong Community Support. Nearly 90% of the district's residents give it high marks for educational quality, according to a recent survey.

  • Highly Ranked High School. Roseville Area High School ranks in the top 2% of Minnesota schools and in the top 4% of the nation’s schools, according to U.S. News and World Report. After graduation, 93% of our students go on to post-secondary education or the military.

  • Stellar Teachers.  Of the district's 586 teachers, 85% of them have earned at least 15 college credits beyond a bachelor's degree. 65% of our teachers hold a master’s degree or higher. Thirteen have earned National Board Certification in Teaching. All are committed to using their talents to help students succeed.

  • High Achieving Students. In 2014, 5 students were National Merit finalists, with one also earning a National Merit scholarship. One student earned a perfect SAT score. Within the past four years, two Roseville Area graduates were named Rhodes Scholars.

  • A Foundation for Innovation. Since it started in 1991, the Roseville Area Schools Foundation has awarded over $400,000 to support teachers’ innovative learning projects and technology.

  • Solid Financial Management. The district is known for wise resource management.  In 2013, residents rated the district’s financial management 10% higher than the Twin Cities metro area norm.

  • A Variety of Learning Options.  The district has 6 neighborhood elementary schools; a dual-language immersion (Spanish) elementary program; a K-8 school; K-6 year-round inter-district integration magnet school; a 7-8 middle school; an alternative high school; a 9-12 high school; and an adult learning center.

  • A Fine Arts Tradition. The district is renowned for its fine arts excellence with classes and opportunities for performances and exhibiting that start in kindergarten and continue through high school.  Each year, students in these programs earn area, state, and national recognition. In 2013, Cantus Certus was one of only four choirs in the U.S. asked to participate in the American Choir Directors Association's national conference in Dallas.

  • Long-standing Commitment to Diversity. We’re a founding member of Equity Alliance MN, which launched Harambee and Crosswinds schools. Our district was one of the first in Minnesota to create an equity vision as part of its strategic plan.

  • Flourishing Lifelong Learning Programs. Our Community Education programs serve over 30,000 participants each year. Recent research findings indicate that it’s one of the top programs in the Twin Cities area.

  • Activities & Athletics. Roseville Area High School is renown statewide for its comprehensive and successful activities and athletic program. An estimated 65% of RAHS students participate in at least one activity or sport each year.  Our interscholastic sports program competes in the AA, large-school division and is a member of the Suburban East Conference.

  • Healthy Choices.  The district started offering salad bars and other healthier options in the 1990s. We continue to focus on getting students of all ages to eat healthy foods. Our student advisory group provides feedback and helps select menu items.
