CP First Lego League 2018

For the second year in a row, Central Park Elementary students participated in the First Lego League challenge. This competition not only encourages STEM activities but also instills several skills such as collaboration, respect, inclusion, team work, basic programming, innovation, strategy, being able to research a topic, presentation and many many more. CP Winter Conferences

Conferences will be held January 29, 31 and February 7, 3:40-740 PM. These evenings are an excellent way for families to touch base with teachers regarding progress in school. CP Media Center Looking for Volunteers

Help is needed in the school Media Center to shelve books returned by students and staff.  We especially need help on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You can come 1, 2 or 3 days for 1-2 hours.  We will be flexible to fit your schedule.

CP Talent Show December 7

CP Kids Heart Challenge November 19-21

We have officially kicked off our Kids Heart Challenge event. Kids Heart Challenge focuses on heart-healthy habits while giving students the opportunity to help those with special hearts. Please be sure to ask your child about our service learning project and what they can do to make a difference. Your student should have an envelope and augmented reality sticker to show you. Participation is simple. All you have to do is help your student Register Online and then take the heart challenge by choosing one of three things: Drink water over sugary drinks; Exercise for 60 minutes a day; Do one act of kindness a day.  
 

CP Author Visit: Jeffrey Brown

Central Park is pleased to welcome Jeffrey Brown, best selling author and artist of the Jedi Academy and Lucy and Andy Neanderthal series, as well as several other books. He will visit Central Park third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders Monday, October 29 and introduce his latest release. Make sure to ask your children about their experience! And special thanks to Mr. Brown, Red Balloon Book Shop and CP Media Specialist, Shawna Traver, for this special opportunity. 

CP Lost & Found

The weather seems to change hourly this time of year and it's easy to take off jackets at recess and forget to pick them up. But now that it's officially getting colder, children will need to reconnect with those lost layers. If your child is missing anything, please send them to the school office. Our stash will be cleared out at the end of each month.

Firefighters Visit CP Kindergarteners

October is Fire Safety Awareness month and Central Park kindergartners were excited to welcome our local fire fighters on Wednesday, October 3. The students watched an equipment demonstration and had a fire safety lesson. Thank you, Roseville Fire Fighters!
