Roseville Area Schools' Karen community will present a Karen Culture Show, taking place at Roseville Area Middle School this Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 1 – 3 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature local Karen artisans performing music, dance and demonstrating Karen weaving.

On Thursday, February 6, all Roseville Area Schools will offer pork on the lunch menu. A non-pork option will also be available – a soy butter and grape jelly sandwich. All pork items will be clearly marked with a picture of a pig and staff will help students select menu items based on their needs.

At the Jan. 14 meeting of the Roseville Area Schools Board of Education, newly elected and re-elected directors took their oaths of office. After their swearing in, the board elected officers for 2020.

A team of sixth grade students from Edgerton Elementary—led by Laura Mittelbrun, the school’s media specialist—are state-level winners of the 10th Annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest. The nationwide competition challenges students in grades 6-12 to develop solutions to a problem in their community using science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills.

Roseville Area School District Nutrition Services is working to offer more plant-based protein meal options based on suggestions from high school students who want the non-meat offerings for environmental reasons. Elected and appointed officials from the Cities of Roseville and Little Canada, Metropolitan Council, Ramsey County and the Minnesota House of Representatives recently joined us for a quarterly meeting to discuss issues and toured the completed construction at Edgerton Elementary.
