Pausing the Transition to Blended Learning and Shifting Back to Distance Learning

We are pausing next week's transition to blended learning for students in fourth, fifth and sixth grade, and will transition students in ECSE, pre-K, and kindergarten, first, second and third grade to full-time distance learning beginning Monday, November 16. Any students receiving in-person special education and English language development services will receive all services remotely beginning November 16. The planned transition of students in grades seven through 12 to blended learning at the start of Trimester 2 is increasingly in doubt, but not yet off the table.
Celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day

Monday, Oct. 12 is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and across the district we recognize the significant contributions to our society and our schools by American Indians. Working with the Minnesota Humanities Center, we've compiled resources for teachers and families about Indigenous Peoples' Day, including general websites, digital collections, grade-based videos, talks, and even virtual field trips.
Food for students

We are offering meals at no cost to all children 18 and under. We do not require student identification. Students will receive boxes containing five days of breakfasts, lunches and snacks. Families can receive them at curbside pick up any location or sign up to have meals delivered to homes. Click 'Read More' for details.

Meal Pick Up Sites and Home Delivery

Starting September 14, five days' worth of breakfast, lunch and snacks will be available for pick up at one of several school sites. If you are unable to pick up meals, please complete the Home Meal Delivery Survey to request home-delivered meals for your students during distance learning. Meals will be delivered once a week. Childcare Options for Families During Distance Learning

The district is offering School Day Care and Friendship Connection during distance learning for elementary students through 12 years old and registered prekindergarten students who are 4 years old and are one year before kindergarten. Childcare will be available as space and staffing allows. Registration is required for all care options. Visit our Child Care/Friendship Connection page for more details.
